How long have you been with Storeys and how has your role evolved in that time?
I joined the company in June 2020 as Storeys’ first recruit and my role has changed massively (even from my initial interview), as has the company. I applied for a part-time PA and marketing assistant role, which following interview 2, turned into a full time job offer and me getting my foot in the door to the estate agency world. Not knowing what was coming in the future, the company has grown and evolved so much. 3 years in and I am now ‘Operations Manager’ at Storeys and get butterflies of excitement when I know just how far the company can grow and the opportunities ahead.
What does your typical day look like?
Day to day can vary so much, depending on what is thrown your way. For me it is overseeing the day to day operations of the business; liaising with the team and checking in with the directors, streamlining the process, training and implementing new and exciting opportunities that we open doors to. Is this on a character count?? How long have we got … I could go on and on and on!
What’s your favourite thing about working with Storeys?
- The opportunities that you are given (working for a ‘small’ family business means that working directly with the business owners you can get answers quicker than you need them. Ideas are actioned and opportunities are endless)
- The team. I’ve been part of some fantastic teams (both big and small) and I have never quite worked with a group of people like we have at Storeys. Although working in a fast paced environment can be extremely challenging and tricky at times, everyone has each others backs and equally aren’t afraid of pulling one another if we don’t think something is right.
Why do you think Storeys stand out above the rest?
High end marketing and communication – no one seems to get it right like we do. We always go above and beyond in everything that we do so that we can be our absolute best!
What is your biggest challenge in your role?
The biggest challenge is that I personally want everything spot on and perfect …. But perfect doesn’t exist and this hurts my brain at times!
What do you love about Cheshire? Do you have any favourite go-to spots?
There are endless things to do in Cheshire and on your doorstep alone – from walks down the river, family strolls around Delamere Forest and enjoying a bite to eat at some of the fantastic eateries we have in the area. Aprils Kitchen, Knutsford & just Knutsford in general; Chester Zoo (with Harper!); Spot of shopping at Cheshire Oaks; Tatton Park.
